Thank you for this post. Greg Nesteroff in his excellent Kutne Reader has a very detailed post about Robert Crellin and Florrie Barbour, with a wonderful photograph of the two of them together. There has been some film footage of the survivors discovered, and a clip of it is linked in Greg’s post. Both Mr. Crellin and Florrie were from Silverton, in the Silvery Slocan area of the West Kootenay:

Within the Kutne Reader story is a link to another Greg Nesteroff story about Mr. Crellin and Florrie, published in the Nelson Star in 2014, at the time of the centennial of the disaster.

My family, mom, dad, brother and myself, emigrated to Canada in 1958 from Ireland. I’ve never heard about this terrible accident. We docked in Montreal and my uncle drove from Niagara Falls to pick the four of us up. Unfortunately my brother contracted mumps and my uncle ended up them as well.
