Hi there Eve, enjoying all these podcasts.
My grand uncle was married to Detective Archie MacKay’s sister. His other sister Libby was Roddy Moore’s class teacher. I remember she told me that she took call from Roddy Moore’s mother, she also sat with children when they interviewed by police.
I’m in Scotland but spent quite a bit of time with Libby and Archie on visits to Vancouver when I was young.

I also am from same county as Robert McBeath came from and it’s where Archie and Libby’s parents grew up.

Hi Eve, really love your podcasts and will check out your books too. Yes, he sounds like a textbook sociopath. The description Janine gave of his interactions is classic gaslighting: not just getting her to think he was innocent, but also convincing her that lies were reality. It’s hard to describe how convincing and persistent a sociopath can be once they have you in their web. I am glad she found the resilience and support to grow beyond her circumstances and become the person she is today.

Thanks for the updated Eve as I ordered your 4 signed books last year and read them all over the holidays. I rembemberd the story from the news. My three cousin’s also went to David Thompson at the same time, & in the 90’s I lived on 41st & Arglyle. I wonder if the McRoy was any relations to our family’s friend Doug? Jeannine was groomed so young she never stood a chance to against her Dad, and so happy that she came through all the devastation she endured. Good luck for your future as the truth will set you free and Happy New Year to all. 😊

Eve, this is a remarkable condemnation of Canada’s justice system. Castellani should have been kept in a secure prison for life. And certainly not in the country club where he stayed for a short time. It’s the parole officers and the parole oard members who are not alligned with public sentiment. Too many social workers amongst them.
