I remember the fundraisers to save Chinatown in the 80s in 1958 we were forced from our rental on Hawks Ave near union I was only a child. I know now that the politics at the time were condemning as much of residents China town as they could. I believe it was these efforts that saved the town houses on Hawks ave from demoli8tion.
