Turning on my laptop and seeing Pam’s picture from our high school yearbook brought up all my memories of her. Pam and I were roommates after we left high school… We rented a basement suite up in the Sahali area. She was fun to be around. At some point I decided to move back home and Pam was going to do the same but I don’t think she did… I recall her saying that her Dad had remarried and she didn’t really get along with her Step Mom?… I ran into her at the one of the pubs and she said she was hanging with a group of people from Salmon Arm and another time I saw her she said she was living in a trailer park beside the Overlander bridge? I never saw her again after that until I heard she had been murdered. Pam used to hitch hike a lot and sometimes I hitched with her…she always sat in front and did all the talking while I sat in the back. I thought about her often over the years. She was good person and she had a good heart. I was shocked to hear she had been murdered.

My father fit the psychological profile of someone who could have committed this crime, and he was living in Kamloops at the time. In fact, he was investigated by the local police for the murder of Pam Darlington. I, along with others, personally witnessed him commit horrific acts throughout his life. He died in 2017.
He often spoke about the Pam Darlington case and would recount how the police came to his house and directly accused him of the murder. According to him, he boldly replied, “I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about,” and the officers then dismissed him as a suspect. The way he told this story always struck me as strange, almost as if he were subtly bragging about having gotten away with something.
My father was a predator; sexually, physically, and criminally. He was violent, manipulative, and extremely dangerous. He was also a very large man who could have easily overpowered a young girl. He had a clear sexual interest in young girls and boys. Given his personality, history, and the fact that he frequently brought up the Pam Darlington case, I strongly suspect there may be more to his involvement than he ever admitted.
I can’t remember whether he claimed to have known Pam Darlington personally or only that he was accused of her murder. However, I would be very willing to speak with anyone who might be interested in this case and share any information I have.

Pam Darlington was a very close friend of mine. We lived in the same area and her brother has since died as well, from natural causes. He took his sister’s death extremely hard. I still think of Pam and I’m not convinced that Fowler was the killer. I hope I’m wrong. Ted Bundy was hanging around
B.C. around that particular time. God knows and that’s all that matters.

I knew her to say hi and nod at her. She didn’t do anything that deserved this. She was a year younger or so than myself. My younger sister hung out with her and another girl.

I think of Pam often. I went to school with her brother Tim and was sad to see when he passed that he still had no answers as to her demise. I used to ride with Pam and she was a great person!!! I have always thought it was someone local who killed her, for some reason the name “Blake” has stuck in my head? I hope she one day gets justice, she deserves it!!

In reply to Jim McNaughton. Bundy was long suspected to have done some killings in Canada, so it probably was him; he did drive a VW Bug at one point. One knowledgeable author who knew him has said that he probably killed 150+ in all.

My wife and I both were Pam's age and knew here well.We lived in Dallas and moved to a apartment on Tranquille Rd shortly after were married.We were living there at the time of Pam's murder.She called the RCMP as a strange appearance of a handsome stranger was hanging at our apartment for a couple of days .He was a handsome guy driving a Volkswagen bug with California plates.My wife said Pam had been at the apartment for my son's 1st birthday on Oct 23/73.Approx 10 years later she saw a picture of Ted Bundy and some of his victims.She was startled and still to this day she said it was Ted Bundy.That places him in Kamloops after Pam's murder as these incounters she had were shortly after Pam's murder.She had called the RCMP as she new Pam as the police were looking for information about Pams murder.She was scared at the time as she knew Pam and this strange incounter with this guy.She said that she was taking the garbage out and was only 10 ft from this guy(Bundy).To bad the police had not not even had her attempt to do a picture based on her description.She had 3 numbers if his car license plate.So sorry Pam was such a amazing person.Still makes us so sad

I usually don’t comment on the inconsistencies that people post, but I am Pam’s sister and you are incorrect – she was hitchhiking. Her car would not start that evening and she decided to hitchhike as many people did in the 70s.

Pam Darlington was just six months younger than me. Everyone hitchhiked in those days but there is really no evidence that she was hitchhiking at the time of the murder. Three young woman found dead in one geographic area. A possible serial killer and another botched investigation.

It is an unfortunate fact that after 50 years if the killer(s) have not been found or identified they are probably dead now, never having faced justice for those murders.
