Thanks, Eve. I want to underline your remark that people are surprised that important midcentury houses are or should be heritage-listed. Your articles go a long way to helping them appreciate the artistry of west coast modern architecture and how lucky we are to have so many notable examples in our city.

Not at all surprising but still utterly disappointing. Just like Dundarave and Ambleside, Edgemont’s soul – including the intent and beauty of Hollingsworth designed homes – has been demolished. The new shiny boxes that will replace Shalal Gardens are an insult to Fred Hollingsworth’s vision for the property.
